The need for high-quality training has grown significantly in recent years, driven by the company’s continuous expansion. When designing programmes and initiatives, a recurring question emerges: How can we equip motivated applicants from diverse professional and industry backgrounds to thrive at Deutsche Windtechnik?
Partnerships and Programmes: Shaping the Future of Training
Hanna and her team explore solutions to fill the gaps for prospective applicants. One of the first initiatives was expanding vocational training. Since September 2023, a new training partnership with Deutsche Bahn has enabled mechatronics technicians in Bremen to be trained. Further partnerships are in the pipeline.
“We’ve also started qualifying individuals from unrelated fields through our career change programme,” Hanna explains. “This programme has been successfully implemented several times and has proven highly effective.” To expand its reach nationwide, a new training centre was opened this year in Osnabrück/Bissendorf.
New Formats for Learning and Knowledge Sharing
The Campus also offers innovative development opportunities for existing employees. One notable initiative is the Learning Bites, part of the Online Campus, which was successfully introduced this year. These small, digital training sessions allow employees to share their expertise with colleagues. Topics range from communication coaching and Excel training to understanding one’s carbon footprint.
“We aim to recognise and leverage the diverse expertise within our workforce for everyone’s benefit — supporting both the company’s growth and individual personal development,” Hanna explains.
The Learning Bites represent the first of many training and knowledge-sharing formats developed by Hanna and her team, with more set to be introduced in 2025.
Purpose and Motivation Through Diversity
Hanna brings a wealth of experience in project and change management, as well as in training and education, which allowed her to quickly grasp the scope of her role. “I find it incredibly meaningful to invest in the education and training of dedicated people within the renewable energy sector. I’m also inspired by the wide range of topics the Campus covers. As a unifying hub within the parent company, we bring together activities from various, often very different, areas: onshore/offshore, national/international, internal/external, and blue/white-collar. At Deutsche Windtechnik, we’re quick to act, which I appreciate!”
Hanna’s passion for variety and renewables extends to her personal life. Whenever possible, she goes camping by the sea, harnessing solar energy from her solar panel and enjoying the fresh breeze.
